About me

Hi! My name is Hafsa Ahmed and I am a junior at Frisco High School residing in Frisco, TX. In general, I would like to contribute towards healthcare, to the poor, women, and children at large. I have been part of various volunteering programs, both in school and in the community which is helping me develop into a well-rounded person. I’m part of Student Council and Best Buddies clubs while I hold leadership roles in Unicef and HOSA. For me, ISM is a perfect platform for me to solidify my thoughts into concrete actions. I intend to use this opportunity to start working on these thoughts and have a mentor who can help and guide me throughout this exciting journey. In achieving my goals, I am blessed to have the support of my family and also consider myself fortunate to be part of the ISM program.

Mission statement

Throughout my independent study, I plan on accomplishing a better understanding of how the Pediatric Surgery field works as well as learning several skills throughout my time in a professional work setting. Displaying integrity, excellence, and leadership, I strive to reach my full potential with the guidance of my mentor. I aspire to challenge myself by exposing myself to new methods, techniques, and having a full commitment to contributing to the medical field. Through the ISM program, I hope to take full advantage of these opportunities being presented to me and representing the program morally.
