Mentor

Dr. Yomna Farooqi is a Pediatric Hospitalist at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Pediatric Hospitalists are pediatricians who primarily spend their time at the hospital.  She is currently completing her fellowship, which means she is technically still a trainee, but she is able to see patients and their lab work, etc, but she has an attending or a supervising doctor who supports her with patients or when she is on call. During the weekdays, she does not see patients every day, however, she works on her research on many of these days that she does not treat patients. I am extremely excited to work with Dr. Farooqi and be given this amazing opportunity to have her as my mentor. I am passionate about exploring what a Pediatric Hospitalist really does and what Dr. Farooqi does on a daily basis to help her patients! Through this process, I will conduct mentor visits which will allow me to have a deeper understanding of what exactly she does and treats at the hospital.
