Mentors and Original Work

This past week, I have been more focused on thinking through the process of mentorship. I have completed 5 successful interviews so far and I would like to actually interview a few other doctors which a previous interviewee will suggest to me of, and based off of that, I hope to then focus on shifting gears to who I want my mentor to be. I’m extremely grateful for all the professionals I was granted a chance to interview and speak with as they were all so fascinating and great to learn more about from. Furthermore, I have also begun exploring more into my Original Work by making lists of prevalent pediatric surgical procedures. Additionally, I am roping in information I was able to gather from my interviews to draw a set of ideas for me to think about and explore as I was able to gain insight on some procedures that some of the professionals most frequently see and have to treat. I am very excited to continue this journey and learn more about the field of Pediatrics through my future chosen mentor and to be able to steer my Original Work in a direction for which I can then finalize by the start of December.
