New Skills & Connections

During the past week, I myself have been able to gather a sense of how to work independently and professionally. Not only have I just worked on “assignments from my class”, but I have gained exposure to being able to build a LinkedIn profile on my own and working on setting up my Digital Portfolio which I will be using throughout the rest of this exciting journey. While building my LinkedIn profile, I sat there contemplating what I should include since this is one of the forms of connections and communication I will strongly be using throughout ISM. Indeed, I faced a few stumbling blocks throughout the process, however, this same process taught me so many new skills that I might not even know I learned. I was able to create a website. I’ve never created a website before, although when I knew what my goal was and what I had to do to reach it, I was sure that I was going to be able to make an amazing website for my topic of study. This leads me to explain a little more about my chosen career path which is Pediatric Surgery. When I was in the process of creating my website, I spent a good deal of time pondering what color scheme would fit Pediatrics and that led me to researching a different aspect of my topic. I didn’t research the definition of my topic or what it is, I researched more about the presentation of how Pediatrics is displayed, and I incorporated that into my website. In contrast, there is definitely so much more to learn about this exceptional topic of Pediatrics, but throughout this ISM journey, I can not wait to learn more about my future career.
