This week, I obtained information very different from my previous weeks during my ISM journey. I say this because this week I reached out to several professionals in the healthcare field, my primary goal being getting a research interview. It was something new and exciting which I had never done before. While making my perfect template, making sure I had no grammar errors here and there, I started to develop an understanding of how to professionally send invites such as these. These aren’t just birthday invites or something you text to a friend, I was able to professionally contact a doctor in my field of interest. An inflicting question arose in my mind about my own field. Within pediatrics, there are so many different fields, and I sat there wondering if there was anything specific that I would really want to go into. Truth be told, there is not. Anything that has to do with pediatrics automatically catches my eye. Then, that’s when it opened me up to many more possibilities of who to contact and how to reach out to them more broadly. I still have so much to learn and discover on this amazing journey and I hope to get many of my questions answered during my future research interviews with professionals with expertise in pediatrics.
